...my medical billing/coding courses, but I'm having such a hard time being interested in this particular field. My younger sister works in billing/coding for an Oncologist in Atlanta, and she says that 20 different codes are required for each procedure. It's a highly analytical type of job, doing the same thing all day long. Whew! I'd rather be playing with graphics.
I wanted to sign up for graphic design, but I didn't think I could earn any money at it. All the digital design web sites I've been visiting lately are either "selling my entire store" or have a sales category for "starving artists." But heck, the economy is still bad these days, no matter what your chosen field. Sure wish it would get better soon, but we've been saying that for 2 years now. It can't last much longer, can it?

Ah Mary ...very difficult indeed ..I would have a most difficult time with all the codes and such ..your braver than I !
ReplyDeleteBut when times get touch I guess we have to get tough with them ..and if there is not an oppurtunity for our chosen field ..we have to then stray for a time until it comes back.
Is there any kind of antique or craft mall nearby you could try with your pieces ? Just a thought ..or any shows ..I know it's not steady but it would feed your soul while pursuing this new endeavor for a time.
That's why I have started the shows ..the net is so slow overall ..and the shows are instant cash and I can keep doing what I love.
Surely the economy will pick back up in the next few years but I'm afraid it will be a bit of a time before it does. I remember the 80's when we had a recession ..it was very tough times for us and it lasted quite a while ..but we endured and all came out o.k. as it will this time too.
